Instructions

During class, you will (well, in addition to paying attention and participating!) keep a list of all terms that stand out to you during the class period. You will also note how many times that word is mentioned.

At the end of class, you will have time to complete a word cloud that you will email to the instructor. We will walk through this activity together, but here are the instructions.
  • Link for word cloud: Word It Out
  • Click Create at the top.
  • Type or paste in your words from class. You should repeat the words as many times as you heard them (for instance, if you heard "Christian" five times, you will write the word "Christian" five separate times).
  • When you are done, click Generate in the lower right-hand corner.
  • You may then either manually change settings like font, etc., on the left-hand side OR click Regenerate in the upper left-hand corner until you like the look of your word cloud.
  • When done, click Save in the lower left-hand corner. Fill in the title box with your name, and then put your instructor's address in the email box.
  • It will give you the link to your word cloud if you want to save it for yourself.
  • We will create an image with all the word clouds so that we may see what everyone heard.
